Obedience is what God wants from us. Over and over in the Old Testament I see examples of God's people choosing to disobey. Over and over in my life I make wrong choices and have to suffer the consequences. This verse is one I need to pray constantly. Help me,
ReplyDeleteGod to be obedient to what you teach my in Your Word. Give me understanding. Fill me with Your Spirit. Draw me close to You. Help me to separate the important forever stuff from the temporary stuff. Help me to trust and obey, for there is no other way for me to live obediently.
I ponder the phrase "obey it with all my heart". That is not a half in statement. That is all the way! Obey with ALL my heart should mean everything, every time. I have to work on that one.
ReplyDeleteI do love that song - Trust and obey there is no other way, but to trust and obey. I pray too, that I can trust and obey with ALL my heart.
