I like the thought that God is my counselor. Yes, I do express my thoughts, frustrations and desires to him and that gives me delight! His statutes give me direction. Have a great day sword sisters!
Changing times do not change the truths we find in God's Word. We need His counsel now more than ever! One of the verses of the Bible that challenges me the most is found in James where it says, "Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry..." Listening to God as I grow closer to Him by reading His Word is not always easy. PS. 119 is telling us over and over again to delight is His Word and His statues . I heard or read recently that God only wrote one Book and 1 Peter 1:25 tells us , "the Word of the Lord stands (endures) forever." Since I believe that my last sentence is true, now more than ever I want to live out PS. 119:24. I have been asking God to give me a greater delight in Him and His Word and to show me what might be spoiling my appetite for Him. I have been looking for ways to keep God's Word in front of me so that I can be reminded to fix my attention and thoughts on God and His Word throughout the day. I have also asked Him to help me memorize His Word.
