  1. The last two nights I have been wide awake around 3:00 am. I do spent time praying but also found myself worrying too. This verse reminds me to treature God's revelation even if it comes to me at 3:00 am!

  2. I too, find myself praying when I awaken in the middle of the night. As I have come to see this time as God trying to speak to me and to alert me that someone needs prayer, it has become a precious time, a treasured time. I just finished reading about Samuel this morning in 1 Samuel 3. The chapter starts out by saying "The boy Samuel ministered before the Lord under Eli. In those days the word of the Lord was rare.........." Boy does that sound like today! Yet later on in this chapter the Lord called to Samuel 3 times before he finally answered, "Speak, for your servant is listening." Listening and responding are important as we grow in our relationship with Christ. Like Samuel I need to be ready to say, "Here I am" when God awakens me. Having scripture memorized so I can meditate on it in the middle of the night has been a big blessing for me. Has anyone taken up the challenge after the sermon last Sunday to memorize Ephesians 4:16?
