A thought for this Good Friday John 19:30 "It is finished!" Was the Lord's shout of victory because now, through Him, we can escape the power of sin; we can live and be free. Because of Jesus' sacrifice for us, we call the day of His death Good Friday. ( From Our Daily Bread)
Open my eyes so I can see what you show me of your miracle-wonders. Today's miracle wonder is how great Jesus is that he died for my sins. Have a great day and stay focused on the truth of God's word in our lives.
What a great werse to study this Good Friday. The verse I have been memorizing this week is Luke 9:23. It's helping me to open my eyes and focus on the cross while I study what it means to be a disciple if Christ. It says,"Then Jesus said to them all: 'Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me." Jesus set the example of sacrifice and suffering when he died on the cross for us. Being His disciple means that I need to be a selfless and willing to shoulder my cross by daily choosing to live for His glory. Oh how I need His power to open my eyes so I ccan see His good, pleasing, and perfect will for my life. This hymn (Beneath the Cross of Jesus) has been running through my mind all week too and I especially think the second verse goes along with Ps, 119:18 Upon the cross of Jesus Mine eye at times can see The very dying form of One Who suffered there for me; And from my smitten heart with tears Two wonders I confess The wonders of redeeming love And my unworthiness. Thank you Jesus for giving your life for me, so that I can look forward to spending eternity with You!!

ReplyDeleteUpon the cross of Jesus
Mine eye at times can see
The very dying form of One
Who suffered there for me;
And from my smitten heart with tears
Two wonders I confess
The wonders of redeeming love
And my unworthiness.
Thank you Jesus for giving your life for me, so that I can look forward to spending eternity with You!!
